REMOVING A SPELL.
ALLAHABAD, Aug. 9. A strange story was told at Fysubn'l when Gavadn Murao was c Urged with mevder of a relative named liuob'i. Gayadin was suffering from fever and nysent-y son:-.* "ionth; ago and sought the advice of an exorsciser, who stated that the disease was due to Huhba, who had cast a spell on him. Gayadin approached Hubba to remove the spell and on his refusing struck Hubba, who died. The judge, in sentencing accused to transportation for life, observed that the act of accused was that of a man who believed beating the person who had cast the evil spirit into his body would result in the removal of that spirit.
THREE SETS OF TWINS. LONDON, Aug. 9. During the hearing of a separation summons at Aldershot Police Court yesterday a young wife, who accused her husband of cruelty and drunkenness, told ike court that she had gi'en birth to twins on three consecutive years. The first pair were boys, the second pail- girls, and the third a boy and a girl. All were alive and well. A separation order with the custody of the six younit children was granted the wife, and the husband was ordered to pay her 30s weekly.
