(Australian A N.Z. Cable Association.) STERLING EXCHANGE. (Received this day at 9.30 a.in.) NEW YORK, Sept. 23. Sterling exchange in New York reached a new high level for the year of 486 21-32. This is the first time it touched par since Juno 30th, 1926. U.S. STEEL CORPORATION. NEW YORK, Sept. 23. S. B. Sheldon, appointed president of the United States Steel Corporation, in succession to the late Judgo Gary Sheldon, was previously vice-president of the Minnesota Steel Company.
