(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) THE COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, Sept. 23. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 to-day. Hons. Stout, Hunan and Malcolm were appointed managers to confer with the managers from the House in regard to the amendment made by the Council in the War Disabilities llenioval Bill. 'The Council adjourned at 2.54 until Wednesday.

THE HOUSE. In the House the amendment made 1 v the Legislative Council in the Marriage Amendment Bill was agreed to. In further considering the Estimates the following votes were passed:— Labour Department, £63,452; Westport. Harbour account, £52,205 ; Mental Hospitals, £281,534; Department of Health. £255,871; Defence, £404,995; Naval Defence, £493,326; External Affairs, £40,925; Scientific and Industrial Research, £46,004. The House roso at 11.45 till 2-30 p.m. on Tuesday.
