(By Telegraph—Per Press Association. DROUGHT RELIEF. SYDNEY, Sept, 21. The serious position of a large number of small graziers in the Northern ■Riveriua district was set out by a deputation which waited on the Un-der-Secretary of Agriculture to discuss means for drought- relief. The affected area is over four thousand square miles. One member said the present season was the worst he had known during tliirtv-six years residence there, lie did not believe a single bag of wheat would he gathered in the whole area. Settlers in these districts had lieen carting water for eighteen months. Fodder was practically exhausted and stock was dying off fast. Farmers have all they can do to keep their horses alive, so that they can carry out next year’s seeding. ALiny storekeepers had to close down.
