ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE

M. Houston and Co. report: At the usual fortnightly sale at the above yards yesterday our entry consisted of 52 prime fat cattle and 90 fat sheep. There was a very good attendance of buyers and competition was keen, especially towards the end of the sale, and satisfactory prices were recordeil. The bulk of our entry consisted of prime medium weight bullocks wine 1 realised from 40s to 41s per hundred, whilst good heifer beef made up to 40s per hundred. We sold as follows: -On account of Messrs F. G. Williams and Sons 30 fat hoggets at 30s Gd ; on account of T. Staines 61 fat sheep at 425; on account of Messrs F. G. "W illiams and Sons 2 bullocks at £ls 2s fid, 2 at £ls ss, 2 at £l4 15s, 2 coys at £lO 10s, 2 bullocks at £l2 ss, -2 at £l2 2s Gd, 3 heifers at £l2, 2 at £ll 2s 6d, 2 at £lO, 2 cows at £l2, 1 at £l3 2s Gd, 2 bullocks at £ls ss, 1 at £l6 7s 6d, 3 heifers at £9 7s 6d, 2 bullocks at £l4. 3 at t£l3 15s, 2 at £l4 10s, 3at £l3 15s, 2at £ls 5 Sj 2at £l4 ss, 2 at £l4 2s Gd, 1 at £ls, 1 at £l6 15s, 2 at £l4 10s, 1 at £l6 2s 6d, 1 at £l2 ss.

Messrs W. Jeffries and Co’s report: The usual fortnightly fixture in the above yards was liekl yesterday when a. yarding of 5G prime cattle were offered for Messrs Sullivan Bros., the quality of which was excellent and brought forward spirited competition throughout the sale. It was noticeable however, that there was not the usual demand for the heavy finished Hill locks that obtains at this season of the year, while lighter steers and heifers sold probably better. Heavy ox beef made from 3Gs to 40s per hundred, medium weights from 375, Gd to 42s Gd, heifei beef from 37s 6d to 42s and cow beef to Messrs W Jeffries and Co. sold as follows: —1 bullock at £ls 10s. 2 at £ls 7s Gd, 2lat £ls, 3 at £l4 17s 6d, X'' 2at £l4 lOS; 3at £l4 2s fid, 3at £l4 ss, 3at £l3 17s Gd, 3at £15,_3 at £l4 7s 6d, 2 at £l3 17s Gd, 2 at £l3 2s fid, 2 at £ll 2s 6d, 1 heifer at £l3, 2 at £l2 12s 6d. 1 at £l2 os, 3 at £lO 10s, 2 at £lO 2s 6d, 8 at £lO, 2 at f * £9 17s Gd, 1 cow at £ll 15s, 1 at £lO 2s Gd, 1 at £lO, 3 at £lO ss.
