After the Combined Puller-Coast v. Golden Bny-Xelson.-Marlboroiigli trial game at Westport last Saturday Frank Freitas of the Excelsior Club (Hokitika) and Paddy Jamieson of the United <;| til, (Grey) were asked bv the South Island selectors to submit themselves to a medical examination that evening. I ills goes to show that the New Zealand Rugby Union are determined that only fit men will make the trip to South Africa. Both of the above were classed A 1 by the doctoi. Coast football critics are already nominating Freitas as one of the All Black forwards.
