NEW LONDON ILLNESS. LONDON, Aug. 28. “ Staggering flu ” is the i'atest summer complaint to strike the metropolis. Men. who wear the blue ribbon of temperance, have arrived home during the last few weeks in the most suspicious condition, lurching up the garden path, and having great difficulty in manipulating the latchkey. Thousands of people suffering from the malady show most of the symptoms of intoxication, though no case is yet reported of a genuine victim putting his umbrella to bed and himself sleeping in the hall. Patients, however, find it difficult to walk a straight line, and lose their sense of direction. Doctors call it “ summer complaint.”
