TENNIS

(Australian & NiZ. Cable Association.)

NEW YORK, Sept. 15

Mr Hennessey, of Indianapolis, who yesterday defeated Cochet, will, it is understood, bo member of tile American Davis Cup squad next year, particularly because of his excellent showing against Hunter to-day. Hunter defeated him 4-6, 7-5, 6-0, G-2, 6-4. Hennessey’s play was of the highest calibre. The Selection Committee are contemplating the inclusion of younger players in the 1928 contests, and such new stars as Hennessey and Doog, of California, probably will he sent abroad to gain experience.
