(By Telegraph Per Press Association.) THE HOUSE. WELLINGTON, Sept. 13. In the House during the afternoon sitting the Minister of Education laid on the table 'the annual report of his Department. This gave rise to a discussion on the rumoured abolition of Education Boards.
Mr Atmore moved:—“That in the opinion of this House it is not desirable that Education Boards should be abolished.” The Minister made a statement in which he said he was not prepared to make a final pronouncement on the subject this session. The debate was proceeding when the House adjourned at 5.30. At the evening sitting the Minister of Customs brought down resolutions amending the customs taiiff uhic.i were agreed to. after a lengthy discussion . Amendments made by the Legislative Council m the War Disabilities Removal Bill were disagreed with, and the House rose at 11 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. next day. 1 • - --- ---
