DRIFTIN’ THRU ” TO-NIGHT.

Driftin’ ” Dan Brown is one of the devil-may-care class of individual. He never knows what the next day is to bring, and, what is more, he doesn’t care over much. During his aimless wanderings, he decides to make his "■ay to a small western town to try his luck. Alter stealing his way on trains I |( ‘ arrives at the place wherein a gambling casino gives him the chance ol staking a few dollars. After a series of lucky wins he succeeds in breaking the hank. A light follows, and the proprietor. “ Bull ” Dunn, is killed, suspicion tailing on Dan. Tn liis efforts to escape! he loses a\l his winnings, hul with the aid of a girl, and after a series of hazardous duckings and (lodgings, lie manages to escape the! sheriff, and takes refuge in the hut of j a prospector, some distance from the j town. His benefactor informs him' that there arc valuable gold deposits on! a near-by ranch, and also that tlio ! niece of the recently deceased owner contemplates selling the property on the advice of the foreman. This man is merely serving liis own ends, and ‘ Driftin'’ Dan goes along to advise the girl not to sell. When lie meets the girl, Dan is surprised to find that she was the young lady who assisted him to dodge the sheriff, and to escape after the shooting affair at the casino. Acting on his advice, the girl decides not to sell. The f oreman arrives shorti'y afterwards, accompanied by tho prospective purchaser, who proves to bo the widow of the murdered saloon proprietor, and gets a severe shock when ho discovers the girl is determined not to soli. The foreman then does his best to force tho girl to affix her signature to the bill of sale, hut Dan arrives at Iho critical moment, and frustrates his plans. in the thrilling sequences that follow, many facts are brought to light which go to prove Dan’s Inno% fence on the murder charge, and the real murderer is found to be the saloon keeper’s widow. Dan’s innocence thus established, enables him to express bis regard for tlie git I. and further protects tier interests by marrying her. On Friday next the world’s greatest circus picture “ Spangles,” starring Marion Nixon and Rat O’Malley will be shown.
