The Committee of the .Board (Messrs .Breeze. Duff and Jeffries) reported : We examined the Home thoroughly and in our opinion it is without any doubt right up-to-date. Nevertheless tho Health authorities are not satisfied, and require further improvements made in the Heme, which Airs Halliday does not feel it incumbent upon her to carry out. She definitely states she is relinquishing the place as a Aluternity Home and makes the offer -to the Board to rent the premises furnished as they now obtain for £4 4s per week with the alternatire of selling her place to the Hoard—no price stated. AVe now .submit this important matter to the consideration of the-Board. —Received. Following a discussion that took place previously at the Finance Committee meeting, further consideration was deferred to next meeting. The Board then resolved into Finance Committee to-pass accounts, and after doing so adjourned.

,DC)GGED ( BY.J'AyE. LONDON, Aug. 28. A long chapter of accidents, ending in the death of one person and injuries to 11 others, attended an excursion party’s attempt to reach Alargate from London by motor coach. The last and fatal accident was caused bv a rabbit running across the road.

The party started from Luna Park in u motor conch at 9.45 n.m. yesterday, an drenched’ Kingsdown, 22 miles away where the connecting-rod fell through the crank-case, entailing a three hours' delay. Transferring to a fresh coach they arrived at 6.30 p.m. at Canterbury, where a breakdown delayed them an hour. They transferred to a third coach, determined to return to London. They had travelled 30 miles when they broke down again.

A member of .the party telephoned to London and secured a. fourth motor coach, to which they transferred half-aii-hour after midnight. They travelled a quarter of an hour in the darkness to Highcroft Hill, where two motor cyclists, endeavouring to avoid a rabbit, swerved in front of the coach. One was thrown off., and the coach driver, swerving to avoid him, lost control of the coach, which, overturned, pinning the occupants beneath the vehicle. One was killed and. 11 injured. Among the wreckage on the roadside was a picture, postcard marked. ‘‘.Good. luck, from . Aim-gate.”
