BOXING.
DEMPSEY v. TUNNEY. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) NEW, YORK, Sept. 9. A Chicago message says:—“Both contenders for the world’s boxing championship bout remained idle today, Dempsey spending tho day in court in an effort to forestall an attempt that is being made to restrain him from meeting Tunney, on the grounds ho lias a previous contract to meet Harry Wills in Chicago. The judge declared that he would hand down his decision on Monday. Deniipscy yesterday fought eight hard rounds with his partners, and he suffered a cut and 'bleeding lip. His physical conditions, after an examination by the State Athletic Commission’s physical examiner as declared to hexcellent. His weight was 108 pounds. Dempsey declared he would probably enter the ring at 194 pounds. Tunney, who, after a spirit clash with several sparring partners on Wednesday, had the old cut over his eye re-opened, declared that lie would do no ring work until to-morrow.
Tunney expressed great, confidence in bis condition.
