RECORD SALE OF DAIRY STOCK
At Mr William Jamieson’s homestead at Ivoiterangi on Wednesday last a most successful' clearing sale of his choice dairy fiord was conducted lnMessrs W. Jeffries and C’o and M. Houston and C’o. acting in conjunction. There was a large attendance of buyers and interested spectators from all parts of the district, and competition was exceedingly keen throughout the sale. The cows were all yarded in excellent condition and as Mr Jamieson has gone in for extensive culling and his herd had a good reputation for butter fat production, it is only natural with the good prospects ahead that the cows were keenly competed for, with the result that record prices were obtained; in fact it must be considered the best sale held here for many years. Top price was 15? guineas for two Jersey cows and the whole herd of 53 cows averaged over ten guineas.
