(By Telegraph—Per Press Association. GIRL’S SOILS'ABULISTIC FEAT. WELLINGTON, Sept. 9. An extraordinary somnabulistic feat was accomplished by Olive Warwick, aged 14 years, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Stani'ey Warwick, of Willis Street. Mr Warwick returned from Christchurch at 7 a.m. on Thursday morning to find the front door of Ills flat open and his daughter missing Mrs Warwick was unable to account for their daughter’s disappearance at so early an hour. A police search proved fruitless. At 8.15 a.m. Olivo returned fully dressed, having awakened several miles away in the Nghauranga Gorge. In her sleep, slid had dressed, taken her own money in a hand purse, several handkerchiefs, and other articles. Realising her position on awakening, she walked down the Gorge to the Nghauranga station, and returned to the city by train. After breakfast, and a long sleep she awoke none the worse for her extraordinary adventurous sleep walk of several miles.

ROAD RACE STARTED. IDEAL WEATHER CONDITIONS TIMA HU. Sept. 10. Last evening rain commenced to fall and continued intermittently throughout the night, 'but was not heavy at any time and it is considered will not seriously affect the Timaru to Christchurch load race. This morning was bright-, the rain having cleared and the race started under idea] conditions.

Of 11G entrants 102 faced the starter in the -presence of two thousand spectators. The first batch of thirteen got off punctually at 9.10. the second of seven at 9.1 d and the third of four at 9.16.

A cyclist who came through this morning stated the road from TTniaru to Rakaia is in excellent condition, but ’from the latter to Dunsandel the road may prove troublesome.
