The New York “World” Washington correspondent states: The appalling number of fatalities involved in Ironoceanic firing may result in Congressional action. Tho Government offictals are not seeking to check ocean living, hut they advocate the prohibition of stunt flying. Mr McCracken, the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Air, favours legislation whereby planes incapable of landing and leaving the water should be barred from trans-oecanic flying. Public sentiment is for stricter control, and that indicates it is inevitable Licit the Government will intervene. A similar movement is afoot in Canada. „ JjONROX. Sept. 8. While the majority of the experts arc of opinion that trans-Atlnntie flying should not be attempted. Sir W. Drencher, in a speech at Liverpool, said: “The flight from oast to west lias been done. It is idle to talk of prohibiting it. You can no more prevent n man flying the Atlantic than attacking Mount Everest. OTTAWA, Sept. 8.
