THOUGHTS TIMES
Passing On. What though the sands are running low, And soon it will be time to go, I’ve lived my life ! For pain and pleasure have been mine, Anil joy and suffering must divine, And peace and strife.
The spacious beauty of the plains The mystery of mountain rams. The storm-tossed sea; The golden hope of coming day, due velvet eve that fades an ay. ' Have been tor me.
The purple mists <d bloody wai, .Have darned my eagle eyes before, And Peace been born. The laughter of a happy face, With nil a woman’s witching grace And sometimes scorn. Why should a man regret that he Must pass into eternity, Not knowing where The path that he must trend may mind? For, having lived he II surely find New interests there. I do not fear the sunset call, Nor dread to face the silent hall, Where far stars shine; Situe all flic wonder and delight. Thai: have lain hidden in’the night Will then be mine. —W. M. Fleming.
