The filial match for the Dominion ladies’ hockey tournament was played tliis morning Huahine A heating Southland by 2 goals to 1. Mrs Hoppic scored hut was ruled offside. Southland commenced to play better and several times reached their opponents’ circle hut the defence of Huahine proved sound. Just before the end of the first spell Huahine made a forward move but were unable to penetrate thclast line of Southland’s defence. The first half ended in favour of Rualiino by one to nil. Play in the first hai'f was not quite up to the standard of hockey exhibited previously in the tournament, some of the players being somewhat nervous 1 and the ground rather heavy. | After the recommencement Southland equalised, Al l ss Maclntyre following through fast and heating the goalkeeper. Strenuous even play followed and the standard of hockey greatly improved. Huahine commenced to regain the ascendancy and a forward rush forced Southland to concede a corner, from which Miss D. Foreman shot a great goal. In the final stages of the game Southland were the better team, missing golden opportunities to goal by bad Vuck. There was no further score and the game ended—Huahine 2: Southland 1.
