A Canterbury sporting writer states that Messrs Donnellan and Shatinahan have got a useful team together ait Riecarton, comprising the evergreen Goose-step, Note, Twomyvari (two-year-old gelding by Gad Lad, from Sleepy Head), Craftsman (an untried four-year-old gelding by Long Range from AViiid Up), and Raineses (three-year-old by Sultala from Roden). The last-named was recently purchased from Afr G. D. Greenwood by Air B. Dooley, of Nelson. Beaming, the property of Afr J. O’Carroll, is also nil inmate of the stable.
The death occurred early yesterday morning at Waiuta, of Afrs Willis, relict of Air Jno. Willis. After working in the garden on Wednesday, she "as attacked with giddiness and fell, striking her head against a table. She was discovered by neighbours unconscious. Afedical aid was summoned from Recfton, but it was of no avail. Airs Willis bad been a resident of Rcefton and district for 10 years. She is survived by one son. Clias. Willis ' Rcefton'). and a daughter, married in the North Island. One son predeceased her.
