(By Telegraph—l’cr Press Association.) N.Z. V. AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, September 6. The New Zealand hockey team played a drawn match against Auckland reps, to-day, the score being two all. Rain had made the ground slippery, but despite the had conditions, the play was very interesting, and some brilliant movements were excuted New Zealand held a slight advantage in the first spell, and at half time led by two goals (scored by Lusty and C. Watts) to nil. In tho second spell, Auckland gained the ascendancy, _and equalised with goals scored by Philpotts and E. Watts. On the run of the game, a draw was a true indication of the merits if the pi’ay. New Zealand showed hotter combination in the forwards, but Auckland displayed a better understanding between the vanguard and half line.
