(Exchanges). Apparently hurdle races are not difficult to win just now in the suburban courses at Sydney, as Asleep, who was taken across toy A. D. Webster, as a result of a last-minute decision, could not bo considered anything but a moderate performer when racing in New Zealand. This was his second success on the trip, a.s the Sarto gelding won a jumpers’ flat race at Menangle on August 23rd.
Tho Inangahuii Trotting Club has published the programme for its annual meeting on Saturday, October 16th. The principal race, the Inangaliua Trotting Club Handicap, is endowed with 150 sc-vs and is for horses that can do 4.58 or better, while there is no race on the programme worth less than 65 so vs.
Tn addition 1o a special passenger and horso train to Greymouth on Friday, October 21st, tho Owners’ and Breeders’ Association have made arrangements for a special passenger train on the morning of the first day’s races (Saturday). It will depart from Christchurch at 7 a.m. and arrive at Greymouth in time for patrons to witness the first race. There will also be a special train to Christchurch at the conclusion of the second day (llonday). Full particulars will be available at a later date.
F. G. Lynch, formerly of Hokitika, who has met with a fair measure of success on tho West Coast a.s a trainer and reinsman, has decided to try his luck on tho Canterbury side of flicranges, and has set up as a public trainer at Addington.
