EVERYBODYS’ PICTURES “TlllltD HOl-ND’" WEDNESDAY On Wednesday at tlie Princess Theatre one of the famous Bulldog Drummond stories by Sapper will be presented, starring Jack Buchanan and Betty Fa ire in Buli'dog Drummond’s ‘■Third Hound.” Jack Buchanan who played as Drummond had something to contend with j m a gang of crooks under the leadership of his old enemy Peterson. who played hv Allan Jeayes and an unscrupulous syndicate are making every effort lawful and unlawful, to obtain the secret of the manufacture of synthetic diamonds from Professor Goodman. They are partly successfid when Drummond is won to champion the cause of the professor by the i'atiers niece. Phyllis, played by Betty Faire. Through breathless stunts and hair-raising incidents Drummond at lasts succeeds in outwitting his gang and winning the girl. The action Is swift the characterisation particularly those of the leading players. Jack Buchanan, Juliette Compton and Betty Faire, excellent and the picture well mounted and produced. Every punch can tell a story—and this picture is punch right from the first fade-in to the last fade-out “Sapper” as an author has an audience of more than three million readers (including you) so naturally you’ll want to see his most thrilling story filmed in England in the right way. Many risks were taken by the actors of the “Third Round” in the making of the picture. Afore particularly were the risks taken by Jack Buchanan, the star of the picture, who had one of the most strenuous roles an actor could have. Several hand-to-hand fights, struggles against odds, escapes from perilous positions and others are some of the things that were all in a day’s work for Jack Buchanan, the star. A topical and comedy will also he shown. On Friday Bex Beach’s great story “Tlie Barrier” will he presented.
