FIFTY MTLE WALK. SYDNEY. Sept. 5. The fifty miles walk championship of New South Wales from Sydney to Cambtlen was won by 0. 11. Smith, of Botany, in 9 lirs 17 mins 32 2-5 sec. After going twenty-five miles the winner was drenched at intervals with buckets of water. Smith established a new Australian record, slipping 2 mins 51 3-5 secs off the record.
