ROSS NEWS.
(Fruin Our Own Correspondent). ROSS CRICKET C LUB. The annual general meeting of the Boss Cricket Club aas held on 2-lth. August in the Coronation Hall, Ross. The Mayor. Mr S. Evans presided over ail attendance of about 10 -members. Apologies were received from nearly every member unable to be present. The minutes of (he last similar meeting were road and confirmed. The annual report and balance sheet was adopted.
Per medium of his report, the retiring President. Mr F. Carter, moved votes of thanks on behalf of the Club to the Ross Borough Council for use of the Recreation Ground, to the monikers of all committees and to these ladies who provided or assisted with afternoon tea at the different”matches and to Mrs O. Hahn for providing hot water thereat, to the lady members of the hall committee, to the Secretary and Treasurer and to the great number of people who assisted the Club in various ways during the season. For the season 1327-1928. Mr 78. Evans, the Mayor of Ross, was elected patron, Mr Carter re-elected President, Messrs A. W. Peebles, H. McMullen and C. Woolhouse as Vice-Pr;si-dents and Mr AY. Clarke Club-Capt. Other officers elected were as follows: Committee—Messrs A. A. Donaldson, O. Jones, Robt. Chalmers, Jos. Ableson, Unlit. Richards; Treasurer—Air C. P. MeNabb; Secretary (honorary)—Mr C. R. Watson. The drafting of rules for the Club was left in the hands of the committee. Subscriptions for the season were fixed at os per member. On the motion of Air W. Clarke it was resolved to hold the opening day on .Saturday, 3th. Sept. 1927. a match between two local tennis to he played.
