SWIMMING.
CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 2.
At a meeting of the Now Zealand Council. a request by Canterbury centre that fresh water New Zealand records should be recognised was deferred till next meeting to give other centres opportunity to express an opinion. Canterbury centre wrote protesting against a proposal by Wellington Wanganui, Manawntu and Taranaki centres to combine for the purpose of holding regional championships to be called West Coast Championships. Canterbury centre considered that they would prejudice the success of New Zealand championships. The chairman said that this matter was receiving the °f tiie Kwles committee.
