The “New York World’s” Washington correspondent states:—An alliance of reform organisations throughout the United States—including the “Lord’s Day Alliance,” the Anti-Saloon League, and the Methodist Board of Temperance—lias launched a country-wide campaign for funds for an effort to check the growth of crime, which they aini to achieve, bv establishing throughout the nation, “a Blue 'Sunday.” It is planned to introduce Bills in the district of Columbia, to he adopted as models in all States fer the closing of barbers' shops, also public dance halls, theatres, commercial activities and sports in conformity with State laws for the observance of Sundays, and it is hoped thereby to enlarge the Sunday church attendances.
