The Rev Father Herring S.M., who delivered the occasional sermon, took as his text the words of St Peter:

“Lord if it be Thou, hid me come to Thee upon the waters.” Speaking of the religious vocation, the preacher said —at tho .the religious life was confidence in God. It was the power of Divine Grace alone that enabled the young just when the world seemed fairest to them, to give themselves up to a life of sei'f-sacri-fice by the vows of religion. Fatnei Herring congratulated the honoured Jubilarian on the attainment of her Silver Jubileo—twenty-five years of confidence in God, of constancy in tho daily duties of religious life and of service in the cause of education. He took pleasure in voicing the feelings of the congregation in offering sincere congratulations to the Jubilarian. Looking forward to the future, he expressed the wish that she would he able to continue her life of devoted service and usefulness till' the time came when she would open her eyes to th vision of Christ, not on the Sea of Galilee, but in the eternal glory welcoming her to the realms of everlasting Jubilee with the word “Come”. The beautiful music of Gounod’s Convent Mass in C was finely rendered hv the choir, under the able direction of Mr H. F. Doogan.
