(By Telegraph—Per Press Association. PRTSONERS SENTENCED. DUNEDIN, Aug. 31. Prisoners were sentenced at tho Supreme Court as follows: —Charged that as a postal officer ho secreted in the course of his business, printed papers which wore sent by post without covers, Leslie AA’alter Benfell, postman, was admitted to probation for three years. Christopher Thomas Alalncfii Reeki, for breaking, entering and theft was admitted to probation for three years. THEFT SENTENCES. AY ANO A NUT. Aug. 31. Judge Reed sentenced AVill'iam Henry Holmes, 41, and John Howard, 35, to one year’s hard labour, for theft of three rings, valued at £66 and an overcoat £7, from the Provincial Hotel.
