WELLINGTON, Aug. 30 The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. One week’s leave of absence v.as granted to Hon Carrington on account of a family bereavement and. four days to Hon Isitt on account of illness. After the formal business the Council adjourned at 2.35 till 2.30 p.m. next day. THE HOUSE. The House met at '2.M p.m. The Finance Bill was put through the Committee stage and passed without amendment or debate. Tbe Imprest Supply Bill No. 3. appropriating the sum of £1.952.500 in payment of salaries and other contingencies was introduced and passed after considerable debate. Egmont National Park Bill and W- r Funds Amendment Bill were also put through tbe final stages and passed. Tbe Annual (.and and Income Tax Bill, also the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill were introduced by Governor-General's message and read a fust time. The House roso at 11.20 til! 22 > p.m.
