Two little girik, Jean Fleming and Alolly de Fillippi, presented Aliss Sfoano with a beautiful bouquet, after which Alaster Charlie. Through her energies as secretary a liability of £IOO had been wiped off and a credit balance is in hand for tiie painting of the hall. This was hut one of the many services she had ron-

tiered the district. On behalf of the residents of Koitcrangi he asked Aliss Sloane to accept as a slight recognition of her good work, a silver ten service with a pair of Doulton cups and saucers on an oak tray. Air A. Michel, speaking on beliall of file School Committee, eulogised M iss Slonne’s untiring work for the advancement of tho School. They wished her prosperity and happiness. Miss Sloane, on rising to express her thanks, was greeted with cheers and the singing of “ For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow.”

Aliss Sloane referred to the happy ime she had spent in Koitcrangi. The ■hildren had made a practice of lellug her their secrets, she said, but on his occasion they kept it, in order to pring a surprise on her, which they id thoroughly. AVlien she came there rst some thought she was too strict, ut discipline coupled with kindness as necessary in a school, for the

.school produced tho future men and women of the Empire. She would always remember tho good time she had had in Koitcrangi when she looked at the clock. She bad learned to i’ove the children and had their confidence. The offico of Secretary to tho Hall Committee had been a pleasure to her, and it did not require a gift to. remind her of their kindness, foi this had always been shown her. She thanked them all for their great kindness. Cheers and “ For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow ” followed. Songs were rendered during tho evening, which was one of the most pleasant spent in the hall.
