With the flotation of the Commonwealth forty million dollars loan an unequalled success, observers here believe that the price of the issue will rise, and that it should reach ninetyeight and a half, possibly going higher within a few months. The excellent Australian credit is assured of a receptive American market for further Commonwealth issues, which are expected to l>e placed here jin the future. The best opinions, however, are inclined to believe Xew York will not supplant London, ns the market for Australian flotations, but rather that both markets will tend to become equally important to the Commonwealth.
