WO RAIS FOR TROUT. NEW YORK, July 11. On the principal that “it is results that count, President Coolidge to-day stands formally vindicated by popular contests in his choice of worms instead of flies as bait for trout.

In the final contest staged yesterday by newspaper correspondents attached to the President during his holiday in •South Dakota worms scored ten fish with a total dressed weight of 3jJb. ragalnst- five fish with a total dressed Weight of 11 lh. caught with flies. Fly fisherman, aided by Democratic newspapers have criticised the President for using worms, on the ground that it was unsportsmanlike. They argue, that catching trout with worms stands in the same category as shooting duck not on the. wing. Yesterday worm-caught trout were labelled “third term” (in allusion to the possibility of AD Coolidge seeking a third term as President) and sent to the President-, who is advised by the newspapers of his own political persuasion to proclaim afresh the gospel of re#ulta,
