£200,000 JEWEL HAULS.
NEW YORK, July 13. Boston “ Rlll.v " Williams, ono ol tin- two debonair burglars who a few weeks ago so elmrmi »siy robbed Mi and -Mrs Jesse Livermore at their Long Isi'and home of li 18.000 worth of jewels, was arrested to-day at a seaside resort in Connecticut. The detective who effected the arrest took the precaution first of shooting Billy in the leg and then taking him to hospital. Billy’s confederate, Arthur Barry was last week sentenced to 25 years imprisonment, after he had made a full confession. The two persuasive burglars, whose bedside manners their victims could not sufficiently praise, are the authors of more than Kill burglaries perpetrated at night time in the stately mansions of the Long Island plutocracy. Their total catch is estimated at £200,000 worth of jewels.
Antony their most sensational achievements was the robbery of the country home of Mr Percy Rockefeller in Connecticut. Incidentally, Billy! killed a policemen in the execution of. his profession, and for this he may he. electrocuted. -
