GOLFING.
WEST COAST TOURNAMENT. The AYest Coast Tournament was brought to a very successful conclusion yesterday in brih'iant weather, the day being a perfect one. The links were again in perfect order and very fast. There was a large attendance present to witness the finals. The finish of the men’s championship was very close. Chesney, who was two up in the morning round, did not hold his lead, and at the 35th hole AFcCarthy was level. The last hole however was secured by Chesney who thereby won the championship by one up after a very exciting finish. Both players were heartily congratulated on their fine play. The Ladies’ Championship was won somewhat more easily by A7rs Sloe. Results : Bogey Handicap, ladies, was won by Airs Neville. Putting Competition was won by Airs AYinchester. AFixeil Foursome was won 7iv Partridge and Aliss Moore, net 90. Final. Afen’s Championship.—Cliesnev 'Hokitika) Irent AFcCarthy (Greynioutli), 1 up. Final. Ladies’ Championship.—Mrs Flee (AYestport) heat Airs Hannan (Greyniouth), 4 up and 3. Afen’s Flag Handicap was won by Fowler and Rest.
