Sacco and V-n inset ti demonstrators inarched through the streets stoning cinemas, shops, hotels and sacked a hoot shop selling American goods, much .stock being thrown into the lake. Then, after smashing the windows of the Lengue of Nations Council headquarters, tho mob tried to penetrate the building but were kept hack by an Alsatian dog till the police arrived and dispersed the rioters. A revolver shot from the crowd killed a civilian and others were injured, including a number of police. At the height of the disturbance children were seen supplying stones to the demonstrators.
A public meeting decided to form a eivc guard for protection of the inhabitants.
In Zurich, police with drawn swords charged a crowd of Sacco demonstrators, who fled in all directions.
