XEW ZEALAND TEAM WIN. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) BRISBANE. Aug. 21. A hockey carnival began here yesterday, when New Zealand played Queensland, winning by nine goals to one. The local team was completely outclassed, but fought stubbornly against superior combination. iho New Zealanders’ play was fast, accurate and scientific. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 20. In a representative hockey match today, Canterbury drew with Buffer—three goals each. The game was pfayed in steady rain, on a ground quite unfit for hockey.
