Tho “ Daily .Mail ” says that the Labour Conference promises few thrills. All the resolutions asking for affiliation v.o the Communists have been wiped out, and focal Labour Parties persistin'; in nominating Communist delegates have been disaffiliated ; and therefore there will he fewer Communists than formerly. There is scarcely an item on the agenda which the Party is not definitely agreed upon.
INCORRECT REPORT. (Received this day at 9.?0 n.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. IS)
Tho news agencies, which published reports of Miss Doran and companions being found, were flooded with ' inquiries and recriminations from all parts of the world when it was discovered tho reports were Inaccurate, and that the plane is still missing. The circumstantial details lent an air r.f veracity to the story which described how tho fliers stepped ashore and who greeted them, etc. It now transpires the report nmanated from a correspondent to a Honolulu paper, who failed to follow instructions which were to send nothing he had not personally seen, and for this reason the papers accepted his despatch as accurate. However, the actual origin of tho report is still shrouded in mystery and in the meantime an intensified search for the missing five aviators continues unabated. AIRMEN'S PLY. SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 15). Smith and Anderson while refusing to bo interviewed declare they are making plans to start in the latter part, of September for Sydney. A plane has been secured, the purchase of which is practically completed.
