“The decision of the Co-operative Congress to ratify Hie agreement lieteen the Co-operative Party and the Labour Tarty marks another definite stage in the advance towards the Ooopei a five Commonwealth. Mo welcome the Co-operative Party-as allies. Me congratulate - its builders upon the foundations which they have laid. But as Socialists we must do more than welcome ami •congratulate. Me must devote ourselves to tho development of .the co-operative movement, in the realisation that it is helping to maintain and improve the workers' conditions as definitely as the industrial movement, and that it is constituting Socialism as surely as the political tnovemen.—The “New I.eadei.
