Mr Redmond, interviewed, said the substantial moral result of the vote was satisfactory. The Government’s highi'y contentious policies could not he carried through, when its existence depended upon the Speaker’s vote. “ L do not know why Jinks was absent. He must surely have been spirited away as a result of methods in use a century ago.”
