PROCEEDS OF BURGLARY
DUXEDTN. Aug. 10. Though the detectives liar! a shrewd idea that hoys recently captured knew where the “swag” taken from Laidlaw and Gray's premises was hidden it was not until this morning that the hiding place was discovered. Detective Bussell was sure in his own mind that the “plant” was in the vicinity of Clark Street and Canongate, and he was walking about that district this morning when he saw a hoy stealthily approaching. The detective watched and then pounced upon the youngster. “Come on.” said he. “Out with it. You know it’s here,'’ And there it surely was. the hoy going to -a spot at the foot of the Canongate steps and Unearthing a small suit case, a gramophone in a case, a parcel and other packages. The suit case contained an assortment of small articles, including curved and straight Scout knives, snipe watches, medals, packages of stationery and numerous other things. One parcel on being opened revealed n set of boxing gloves, while another package proved to be an English concertina..
