WESTLAND SUB-UNION
A meeting of the Westland Rugby Union was held last evening. Air J. Stafford presided and there were present:—Messrs D. Dowell. A. Cutlmsli. S. .Moore, R. .McDonald, R. W'hiley. and E. AY. Heenan. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed. Correspondence was received as follows : From .Marlborough Rugby l nion stating they were not going on tour this sea son.—Received. The Chairman detailed to the meeting the result of the conference at (Jrcymouth with the Rugby 1 nion. Air Cutliiish reported on tlie sevenaside tournament at Ross, stating it was very successful, and Excelsior A were the winners.—Received and Messrs Cutbush, Williamson and Night-; ingale thanked for services at Boss. Senior matches for Saturday. August 20tli are;— Knnieri v. Excelsiors al 8 p.m. Resolved to submit Messrs Cutbush, Williamson and Kearns for selection as referee. JUNIOR KNOCK-OUT. Saturday, Aug. 20th, at 1.80 p.m.— Excelsior B v. Kokatahi, Mr Kearns referee. Tlie following arrangements were made for to-morrow : Ashburton County v. Westland, at -1 p.m. Air Cutbush referee. Grey Juniors v. Westland Juniors, at I. p.m. Air D. Williamson referee. Touch Judge for the senior game.— J. Stafford. Touch Judge for the junior game.—• S. Aloorc. Official Time-keeper. —A. AV. Yarrall. It was resolved to ask the Band to plav a few selections, and also to play (lie visiting team to the Square. It was resolved to thank the Stationmaster. Mr Craw, for his efforts with special train arrangements. Air D. R. Dowell was appointed manager of the Westland team. Air F. .McGregor, manager of tlie juniors. The AYestlnnd juniors will assemble at the Square at 1 p.m. sharp, all Fxeclsior members bringing their own jerseys. The seniors will meet at Cass Square at 2 p.m. Kaniori Tennis Club will provide srx gatekeepers, to he on duty at noon. The visiting team will be tlie guests of the Rugby Union at the Ladies’ Hockey Club Ball in the evening. RUGBY IN GERMANY. (Australian A N.Z. Cable Association. SYDNEY, Aug. Hi. Subject to agreement by the International Board of Control, the New South Wales Rugby Union has sanctioned the present touring team playing matches in Germane on the con-elm-ion of the English tour.
