PRIESTS ARRESTED. RO-ME, Aug. 15,
“Obscrvatore Romans,” the Vatican organ, reports that the Fascist authorities arrested five priests, holding high positions in the Dioceso of I'dino. It says it docs not know tho reasons for the arrests.
The Turin Gazette “Del Popolo,” declares: The arrests are owing to au-ti-Fascist intrigues which the authorities eotild not longer tolerate.
INTERCESSION SERVICES. LAUSANNE. Aug. 15,
A service for penitence and intercession in the difference marring the unity of the Churches, was held at the Cathedral, conducted by Bishop Brent, assited hv French and Germans.
A special feature was tho congregation singing each in their own tongue, the hymns “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross,” and “Luther’s “Now Thank We All Our God,” also the Apostles Creed Beautitudes and the Lord’s Praver.
