The Chairman to move:—“That the accounts presented for the month of July, 1927, as revised and recommended for payment, by the Finance Committee, aounting to £ ~. lie passed for payment.” 2. Cr. Donovan to move:—“That Overseer Alillner he instructed to effect urgent and necessary repairs to Rotokino road, near Alt. Hercules, at a cost not exceeding CIO.” a. Cr. Donovan to move:—“That tho Council affirm the necessity of opening a route for stock traffic between the lx>wcr Wataroa and Little Wanganui rivers connecting with the Wataroa Flat roads and Petersen’s Extension road, the route to follow the recently surveyed line along the flat country behind the Saltwater Lagoon.” ■t. Cr Donovan to move:— “T hai to provide funds for the commencement of the above undertaking, the Council recommend the transfer of the votes proposed for AA ntaroa. stock track, £JSO, and AVaitangi south bank extension (new vote) £250 to the work, and that an additional vote of £350 be applied for on the Supplementary Public Works Estimates, to be applied also to the opening oi the stock route in question.” [Note: The opening of the proposed route would be a great boon to drovers and settlers generally, affording a more direct road for driving stock to markets clear of all motor traffic on tho main highway, greatly shortening the length of the drive and providing better grazing lacilities and camping conditions in the long distance trom Wataroa to Evans Creek.l
