The first official intimation that an English Rugby league team will visit New Zealand next season, was received by the New Zealand Rugby League at its meeting to-night. A letter from the English League slated that it was pleased to accept New Zealand's invitation. The usual condition-- with regard to sharing the gate money would apply; CO per cent, to he allotted to the visitors and 40 per eent. to the New Zealand League; all match expenses to he paid out of New Zealand’s share. The English League asked for early advice regarding the itinerary of the tour as it was intended to make booking arrangements at once.

The Chairman (Mr O. A. Sued deni stated that no definite arrangements could he made until the Australian Board e.f Control had first arranged the itinerary of Australia. John AA'il'on. Secretary to the English League, wrote as follows:—“1 am directed by the Council to make it quite clear that the matter of the residential clause is now out of our hands. The members of the English league, at the annual general meeting .!eeii|<yl that the time had new arrived when ail agreement must be terminated. and tlm Council is powerless t.n act otherwise, in deference to an emphatic decision of an annual general meeting. Air Snedden said it was proposed to

discuss the removal of the residential clause at the Conference to he held in Sydney in the near future, tv hen h'e" Zealand would he directly represented. RULE ADOPTED. LONDON. Ans 11. A general meeting of the Rugby League adopted the Australian League’s alteration to the rule of playing the ball after the tackle.
