(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) THE BURWOOD CRIME. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 12. Charles William Boakes again appeared at the Court to-day, charged with the murder ot Gwendoline Scarff. He was remanded to August 20th.

Arrests were effected to-day of several well-know residents, in connection with allegations of common gaming. Harry Abrahams Samuels, tailor, who appeared before .Justices. was charged that on or about August 11th. being the occupier of premises in Victoria. Street, Hamilton, lie did use the same as a common gaming house; while William Anderson anil Rolston Wyllie were charged with being found on the same premises. Both cases were remanded until August 21th. Bail was allowed. James Henry Delemnn. tobacconist, of Frankton. and Thomas Joseph Carter. a hairdresser, employed by him. were arrested, Doleman for allegedly conducting a common gaming house, and Carter for assisting him. The two latter were also remanded till August 1 -Ith.
