The body of Daniel Condon, who conducted an extensive money-lending business, was found on the floor of bis office, in a building in tbe heart of tbe city, early this afternoon. Ifis head was smashed in by a blunt instrument, and there was evidence of a fierce struggle. The murderer was seen to leave the building shortly alter tbe crime was committed. AIUUDEUHR NOT FOUND. (Received this day at 11 0 a.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 12. There is no trace of Condon’s murderer, though tlie police hold tbe description given bv tbe man who saw the person leave the office. This witness knocked repeatedly at the office door and received no answer. Eventually, the man presumed to he the murderer came out, and in reply to a question, said Condon was inside. Thou lie rushed away. Witness again tried to gain admission and called tbe poi’iee. Tbe door was broken open and Condon was found with a towel round his neck. Apparently the murderer tried to strangle him’before the fatal blows on the head were inflicted. Tbe only indication of the crime, which -two girls in an adjacent office beard was furniture being knocked about, but there were no sounds of a quarreTl or cries. Condon did a large lending business among civil servants.
