It is a story of one of the most fascinating topics of young and old—the railroading game. The romance of the lil'o of a trainman is ever of interest and there are few among us who have not thrilled to the sight of a giant engine or the sound of the fur-off wail ol train whistles. In “ The Runaway Express ” are captured all the stirring events, the dashing exploits, the energy and gameness of the railroad man. I Eero are some thrilling feats that will bring any uudeince up in their seats. The heart-throbbing sight ol the crack limited train dashing along the steel 1 ails without guidance, the huddled passengers iearfidlv awaiting their expected doom, and the glorious climax combine in giving the most captious critic more than his money’s worth. \ line cast, in keeping with this great picture, has been assmbled to portray the various characters. The leading man is handsome Jack Daughterv, well-known to patrons of Universal chapter-plays. Playing opposite him in the role ol hi.s little Irish waitress sweetheart, is Blanche Meliafl'ev, who made her big success in •• Hi.s People,” also a Universal-Jewel. In support ot the two leading players are Harry Todd, Matlge Hunt. William A. Steele, ( Imrlcs K. French. Tom O’Brien. and others. ••The Runaway Express” was directed by Edward Sedgwick, who directed many Hoot Gibson productions, “Lorraine of the Lions,” and “The Flaming Frontier.” “ The Radio Detective ” (serial) and a good comedy will also be shown. On Saturday Claire Windsor with Owen Moore and licit Honcho in “Money Talks,” a ATet ro-Goldwvn-M aver production.
