(Deceived this day at 11.0 a.m.) NEW 7 YORK, Aug. 11. , An advance of fifteen dollars a bale since the publication of the Government cotton crop estimate of 13,492.000 bales, lias raised the value of the 1927 crop more than 220,000,000 dollars. The prices are now at new l’evels for the season, and experts predict the cotton will reach 23 cents a pound or more, should the Government figures prove correct. Rain over the cotton belt is multiplying the infestation of the boll weevil and hearing out the crop. Experts believe that the final output will be four million bales below the 1920 yield.

Hill and of the Federal' Public Works and Railways Departments, are making an exhaustive investigation into the American road systems including macadam, bituminous, and concrete. All these types pnjve satisfactory here and are adaptable to Australian needs, it being only a question of cost. For instance concrete is about twenty-five to thirty thousand dollars a mile here, and will probably be higher in Australia. Hill continues his inquiries in Eng'Tand.
