Four young men. for two of whom Mr Murdoch appeared, were charged with being the Royal Mail Hotel, Woodstock after hours. On various pleas informations were dismissed. ROAD OFFENCES. Westland County Council y. Leslie Thomas Griffiths, information for overloading (two charges) on La Fontaine road. Convicted on first offence and ordered to pay costs £1 11s. On socon doftence fined £2 and costs £2 fs. Same v. William Alexander Lcvctt, without lawful authority erecting running planks on bridge. Convicted and ordered to pay costs £5 :Is. A second charge was withdrawn. Mr Park appeared for the informant in all cases. FISHERIES. ACT.

lnscpctor of Fisheries v. HokitikaKaneri Sawmill Coy. (Mr Murdoch) plea of goillv entered and fine of £5 and 10s costs imposed. MAINTENANCE CASE.

In a maintenance case the defendant was convicted and .sentenced to one month in Mi. Eden Gaol. Solicitors fee (21s) allowed to Mr F.lcock. CIVIL.

John Lock v. G. Andrews (Mr Ariirdocli). Judgment by default for plaintiff’s claim. £8 2s Id with costs £1 !8s 6d.
