Recently i lie .New Zealand (101 l Council held n special meeting to consider the application of the Otago Golf ( lull that the championship meeting he held at Biilmneewan. and decided to advise the southern club that owing to adverse reports received on the course it could not sec its way ti grant the request, hut intended to recommend the annual meeting of delegates, which wiil take place at Hamilton at the time of this season’s championship, that the tourney next year should he given to Christchurch, to lie held on the Shirley course. Now it is revealed that immediately before the receipt ot advice from the New Zealand (ouncil of its intention to give Christchurch Ibe championship, the Christchurch (toll' ( lull wrote lo the council informing the council o( their intention to support Otago’s application.
