HOKITIKA POULTRY SHOW.

VERY SUCCESSFUL ARRAY. WEDNESDAY. AUGUST 3rd. The resumption of the Poultry Show at Hokitika took place under very auspicious conditions. After a wet the sun shone rightly for a very pleasant day. The Soldiers’ Hall had its capacity taxed with a long array of cages, there being a fine entry list of poultry. Old English Game and the Utility Class proving most in favour with exhibitors, in the latter White Leghorns and Afinorcas being in special favour. The ducks and cooking classes did not fill as well' as was hoped for. -Mr E. Dane was judge and his decision were made in good time. The various officials and committee had put in it lo tof work and the arrangements were very complete. Shortly after 2 p.m. Air J. J. Bretvte (President) after n few complimentary references to the excel fence of the Show read a telegram from Air T. E■ Y. Seddon. AI..P. “ Please convey to members of Club my congratulations nit reviving the Poultry Show. I trust the good Old English Game of which the Coast lias some splendid specimens, will he well represented. Best wishes to all, ineluding the Judge.—Thomas Seddon.” Also a telegram from Hon. 11. L. Al icliel :

“ Congratulations on opening of today’s show, which I hope may he very successful.—ll. L. Alichei'.” Air Ih •eeze then declared the Show open, amidst applause. There are a couple of pheasants on show. The trussed poultry is an excellent exhibit that attracted much attention. Canaries though not numerous were a very nice exhibit.
